Training

We offer horse training, specializing in colt starting. Gus has started hundreds of colts and we believe we are the best option for that in our South Texas region. We have a 30 day minimum.  Horses older than 4 will only be taken on a case by case basis and no unstarted horses older than 4.  We are typically 2-4 months out on the wait list so planning ahead is highly recommended.  We require coggins and vaccinations including strangles to be in order prior to arrival.

Training Rates
  • Board is $12 a day

  • Studs will be charged $14 a day

  • Ride Rate will be $25 a Ride

  • Average 24 rides per 30 days

  • Comes out to $960 per month typically

  • Prices subject to change

Top Reasons to send your horse here:
  • We put in the hours, we get them ridden regularly and invest most of the training hours in the saddle.

  • We feed and care for them better than almost anyone.

  • Honesty. If we believe your horse is a Rockstar, we will tell you. If we don’t think it’s up to the standard, we will tell you. We don’t want to waste our time or your money with one that isn’t going to make a nice horse.

  • We have separate facilities and a diverse operation. You horse will get exposure to pastures, arena, live cattle, hot heels, trailers etc.

  • We can put a nice handle on one.

  • We pay a lot of attention to the small details. They will move off your feet and be soft in the face.

  • We are still growing and learning, we are very devoted to training and as a result spend a lot of our rare free time advancing our horsemanship skills through observing futurities, shows, sales, clinics, roping’s, videos, books, or spending time riding with other trainers.
