About Us

3rd Generation Ranchers

Sarah and Gus met at Palo Duro Cowboy Church in 2016. The two became fast friends, but Gus couldn’t stick around town for very long, working as a ranch hand at a few outfits in the spring. When Gus came back to town the following winter and a friend hinted that he should ask Sarah out, the couple got together and there was no looking back. In 2018 Gus proposed with a custom horseshoe. His proposal went viral, gaining some 23K+ shares on facebook. They married in September 2018 and have one daughter, Abigail Jean, and one son, Colt Ward.

In early 2019 Gus and Sarah moved to Grindstone Ranch to begin a new life and a family. Grindstone has been handed down to them by Sarah's mother and father, after being in the family for generations. Sarah's mother passed away in 1997 and the ranch had largely been unworked since then.

Sarah and Gus have begun the process of restoring Grindstone to a working ranch and have big plans for the future. Currently they are breeding and training AQHA quarter horses, and have begun buying and selling beef cattle as well.
